I am trying to use app Inventor with my students on Chromebooks, but when we got to connect to the emulator, the redirect isn't working anymore. It opens a blank white page instead of opening the emulator for them. Any ideas?
This is fascinating.
I did not know the AI2 web interface could adapt to Chromebooks.
I defer to our Chromebook experts on this.
Thanks for trying!
I won't have access to a Chromebook to test this until I am back in the office next week. I'm going to guess though that the Android support on the Chromebook has been turned off as this URL format should effectively launch the MIT App Inventor companion Android app.
Do you know how to turn it back on Thanks! Yes, the app used to launch just fine until December, then we started running into this problem.
Are your Chromebooks under management? If so, you should check with the people setting up the policies to make sure that Android is enabled (usually called "Play Store") and that the MIT AI2 Companion is an allowed Android application.
I have tested with an unmanaged Chromebook running the latest ChromeOS and all works.
