Why is Player playback choppy

I download 30 sec MP3 files and they play. But the sound is very choppy in the emulator. Is there a way to clear it up?

You can only judge the quality on an Android device - the Emulator jumps through many hoops, it is only there to prove something works, not the appearance or quality.

When I used the Android device it worked fine.
