  • Added a warning dialog if not on an active Wifi connection
  • Fixed some internal rendezvous issues
  • Fixed an issue where screens might be garbage collected early, resulting in crashes

The TestFlight version has been updated to version 2.64.1 build 4. In addition to the changes listed above, this update includes preliminary support for WebRTC connectivity on iOS.

For classrooms where there are issues with the pop-up connection in 2.64 but with working Android devices, you may want to try this version as it brings the two into parity with one another.

Note: If you want to try and test WebRTC over the cellular network, you must use https://ai2-test.appinventor.mit.edu as it contains a fix for a bug that otherwise prevents transferring assets to the companion on iOS.

The TestFlight version has been updated to version 2.64.1 build 6. In addition to the changes listed above, this update includes an implementation of the Translator component and reimplements the Player component to allow for playback of media over HTTP/HTTPS.

Is there an estimate as to when 2.64.1 will go live? I have students working on PLTW curriculum that requires ImageSprites to appear correctly on the Canvas in order to check their work.

The last few pull requests (changes) are in review. Once those get merged by the team we'll submit it to Apple for their App Store review. Our goal is to have the new companion released alongside the next AI2 update currently scheduled for February 15.

We have released iOS version 2.64.1 (8) to TestFlight. This version includes an update to the library we use for WebRTC connectivity and also checks that the 6 character code is, in fact, 6 characters long. If you encounter any issues using this latest version please let us know.
