Cannot find Clock1?

Hello,

This is an odd one - I went to modify my app, and when I try to send it to my phone,
it says it can't find Clock1.
I had made no changes to Clock1. Just to be certain, Clock1 is in the Designer and I clicked the little drop-down and selected it in the Block section.
I rebooted, etc.

I did change the directory of some of my assets, and I wonder if that is throwing something off?
I reloaded the assets from their new folder. "Cannot find Clock1".
I loaded an older edition of the app (the current is a Checkpoint). Cannot find...

UD - I loaded an older version and it works. So... my last two saves are corrupt, maybe? What does that mean, can they be fixed?

I'll attach the .aia and the .apk from about 10 days ago (it's not letting me load my .apk, nor as a .zip).

I'd appreciate any help.

TIA,
Mirth

PS - I know there's a lot of redundant code. I wanted to see if I could whip something up in an hour, and I did. I use this daily.

ExcerTrack_5_checkpoint2.aia (93.1 KB)

Is this in companion app ?

If so try the bugfix companion:

AI2 has had trouble with extensions lately.

Here's a draggable block replacement for that time formatting extension, geared towards seconds input:

Try this one:
ExcerTrack_5_checkpoint2a.aia (76.2 KB)

Hi, Ms. Anke. Thanks for the .aia. What did you change? I still get the problem.

Yes.
Thank you!

Hi.
Good to know it's been having trouble with extensions.
I deleted that time extension and it loads!
Thank you so much.
Thank you for the other code - looks great!

Merry Christmas to all !

Delete the Companion folder from your test device first and try again to connect to Companion. I checked it on Android 14 and it works fine.

If you still get the same error, post a screenshot and the Companion version.

Ah, I forgot how much can remain on the phone.
Thank you!

No.

Your version (aia) doesn't work neither with Companion nor with the AOK on any Android version, even not without extensions. (Tested on Android 11-14.)

My version works with both extensions with Companion (2.73t6u) and with the APK without any problems on all Android versions.

On which device and Android version is your version supposed to work (without TFormat extension)? I doubt it. I have almost 20 Android test devices (Android 4.3 -14) and it doesn't work on any of them (not even without extensions).

I will remove the solution marker until this is cleared up.

Well, that's odd. You project "deleteAssetsCompanion" doesn't load for me, from your .aia. Do I need to download the extensions or are those brought in with the project (sorry, I'm learning).

Here's the .aia of my project that does work, before I added the extension.
ExcerTrack_5_checkpoint1.aia (103.8 KB)

You would have to delete the calls for the extension in the middle and at the bottom of the big column. I can be specific if you like.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20, OS 13

And here it is with ABG's code inserted - works great!
Thanks so much.
ExcerTrack_6.aia (158.7 KB)

I checked it also on a Samsung Galaxy Note8 (Android 9) and it actuallly works (with and without the extensions). On other devíces i get this error with Companion:

The APK crashes.

The first version (post #1) of your project (with both extensions) works fine on the Samsung Note8 (Companion & AKP). But as I said, there is a runtime error with Companion and the APK crashes on other devices (like Pixel 2Xl (A11), Pixel 4XL (A13), Pixel 7 Pro (A14).

My app version ( ExcerTrack_5_checkpoint2a.aia (76.2 KB)) should work on all Android versions (with Companion & the APK).

No...

Well, I guess I just had a Christmas miracle then. :joy:

Hmm. Not very scientific though.
And I'd like it to work for everybody.

Well, I couldn't purge my ai2 folder - could that somehow have helped?
As I said, for some reason your purge program wouldn't load for me!

If I delete the Ai2 companion and reload it, does that clear the folder out?
It looks like Android 13 blocks my access to Android/Data.

Sorry - g2g - kids coming over. I'll be back in a few hours.

I would load the .apk but it won't let me. Is there something that can work around that?

Running on my friend's $100 phone (also OS13).
Funny the font won't go Bold when running like it should.
but otherwise, it works.

Photos - via APK and via Companion (a little different).
