Auto Update feature

i am currently working to create a app like that contains a update button by default it was disabled, if an update was available then that button enables and when user clicks that button then that must update. here i use my api to check current app version and download app version if they are not same then update available else nothing. and in that api i will also provide the latest app url to download and install.
is it possible to do ?
