When I open a project it takes me back to sign in

Well, that's really weird! Are you trying to open an existing Project? It may be that Project is making App Inventor crash. Have you tried opening a different Project, or start a new one?
If your session is stale (at least two hours old), then App Inventor will attempt to revalidate your session by redirecting you to the login page.
