I'm wondering if you have a smarter way to view files stored in my phone's internal folders from my PC. Unfortunately, this is what I do: I connect the USB cable, click "USB transfer file" on my phone, and navigate through the folders on my phone.
But every time I update a file, I have to unplug the USB cable and repeat the entire process. There are other inconveniences I won't list here. Do you have any suggestions?
Setup an http or FTP file server and use that to transfer files.
You could also use adb via the command line
Not sure why you are having to disconnect/reconnect after each file transfer ? I do not see that behaviour here.
What you’re experiencing is actually normal Android MTP behavior.
On most Android devices, after receiving or modifying files, the file system does not properly refresh on the PC side. As a result, Windows continues to show a cached state.
You can sometimes avoid unplugging by Disabling and re-enabling USB file transfer (MTP) on the phone else i recommend @TIMAI2 reply for frequent file updates, most developers eventually move away from USB MTP and use ADB (push/pull) or Wi-Fi file transfer (FTP/WebDAV)
