Sharing an apk file

How can I share an .apk file from the app by using below extension :

  1. You will have to upload your .APK file into your Media. I am using Taifun's Linkedin Interface as an example.

  1. Add a Sharing component into App Inventor. You do not need the Sharing extension.

  2. Use this:

Thank you so much. I am afraid that I code so much for that but it's too simple.

However, you need to consider the following:

  • Is the APK file too large? Do I have a lot of assets in the media? If so, this solution will probably not work. If the file size is too large (>5 MB) and an error shows up, this method is not working.

  • Is the APK malicious (contains viruses or trojan horses)? Is so, do not use this method.

Alternatively, you can upload your file in Google Drive, share it to everyone on the Internet and copy the link. Then, use the ShareMessage function to share the link instead.
