Setting up app inventor for a 40 kids classroom who do not have gmail accounts

Hello,

I am a teacher and would like to setup mit app inventor acces to the kids in the class I am tutorring - but the kids do not have a gmail account. How do you suggest I gain them access to the system?
I would really like to spend a couple of months teaching them on the platform.

Thanks!!

Moshe

you can use this link code.appinventor.mit.edu, no need register, just remember the revisit code.
And always backup your aia to local computer everytime, in case you forget your revisit code.

wow!! I did not know that! this is cool! Thank you Kevinkun!!

Depends on the age of your "kids". If they are 13 or above, they can open their own gmail, but if not, a parent or guardian can open one for them:

From Google:

  • If you're under 13, a parent or guardian can create a Google Account for you and manage it with Family Link. With a supervised account, you can access Google products like Gmail, Chrome, and Search. Parents can also use Family Link to: Set up parental controls, Keep an eye on screen time, and Guide you to age-appropriate content.

  • When you turn 13, you can decide to: Keep parental supervision and Manage your own Google Account.

  • You can stop supervision at any time, and your child's supervised devices will be temporarily locked if they do.

  • You can remove a child's account from a device using your parent device. You can also reset the device to factory settings to ensure all app data is removed.

This is too complicated . . . These are young kids (3rd grade)

It sounds complicated but it's not actually. It makes each parent/guardian responsible for their child's online activity instead of you being responsible for all of them without parental control....

I would second the use of the code server with the four word return phrases. You can keep a record of the phrases as well for each student in case they forget.

Having a record of student reentry codes also allows you to peek at their progress or upload starter Projects when they are logged off.
