Hello,
My students need to use the App Inventor for a PLTW course and when we try to upload the aia files from the course, we get the above error. The students have been using the alternate server at code.appinventor.mit.edu because I'm still trying to get my district to allow list the main server. However, I use the main server and I also cannot upload the aia files from the course.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

How big are the aia-files? Can you post some examples?
Sure! Here's one we tried to upload today. I think all the files are about this size.
AC_1_3GermGuide.aia (2.4 MB)
Loads with no issues in the emulator or using Companion for live development on the main server. 
There isn't any code to play the listed mp3 files so assume you are not finished coding the app.
Check with your IT people to see if they are Blocking port 8004 ?
