Hi,
my son (11 years old) created an account and started using the MIT App today, during a course in a club. Now, he has forgotten the password for the Gmail account or maybe he mistyped it right from the start. He still remembers the e-mail address (I hope that the e-mail address is correct, but it looks like something he would choose ...)
This new account is not connected in any way to my account and the Gmail password recovery says that an email with the confirmation code was sent to "kel•••••••••@gmail.com". Is this e-mail address accessible to anybody here in the forum, maybe an admin? Otherwise, he would need to start over.
Thanks
Thomas
If you forgot your Gmail password, the only place to ask for recovery of your free Google/Gmail account is here: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery. Nobody can recover your account for you. You need to do it yourself. You need both a recovery phone number and a separate, different recovery email already set up in your account and kept up to date, and you need access to both . Without those two main recovery options, you probably won't be able to recover the account.
Are you sure he created a Gmail account and not password accessible account for the App Inventor code server that does not require a Gmail account.
Does this screen look familiar to him? The club may be using the http://code.appinventor.mit.edu server where you can login with a revisit code that does not require a Google sign. After you log in write down your return log in password / revisit code so you can return to your projects.
Hi,
thanks for your help. I checked with my son and he is positive that he created a Google account, by going to https://appinventor.mit.edu/ and clicking on the "Create Apps!" button.
I guess we will just start over.
