Here supposedly is a way to do a podcast (depending on what you mean by podcast) using Android Studio with xml https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21295825/creating-a-podcasting-app-android-use-mediaplayer-class-to-play-the-podcast . App Inventor can manipulate xml; perhaps you can do something similar with the Player in AI2?
