so I've seen the groups and the bagels and I saw the moderator group I was wondering how to become a moderator?

You have to be invited by MIT to become a moderator, usually after demonstrating a solid and detailed knowledge of Appinventor, by regularly contributing to the community and consistently providing users with solutions to their problems over a reasonable period of time.
