MIT App Inventor for iOS version 0.9.7

Hello everyone,

This week we are releasing MIT App Inventor for iOS version 0.9.7. We will be performing more frequently releases as we prepare to submit to the App Store, so expect to see more regular updates from TestFlight. This version includes the following bugfixes since 0.9.6:

  • Improve permission handling in SoundRecorder
  • Fix logic bug for Polygon HolePointsFromString
  • Fix touch detection logic for ImageSprite
  • Fix runtime error when Label/HoriziontalArrangement are invisible
  • Fix placement issue with Spinner button
  • Fix issue where closing a screen would pop two screens from the stack

Please continue to test and file bug reports. It greatly helps us and moves us that much closer to releasing MIT App Inventor for iOS.

Cheers,
Evan W. Patton, Ph.D.
Lead Software Engineer, MIT App Inventor

Well done! I look forward to seeing the app in store😃
I have 2 questions:
What about dictionaries? They are not yet running on the iOS version.

And can we install the application (created in App inventor) on the device (IOS)?

I've been working on dictionaries. The implementation just about done, but because it is a big PR I don't think it will make it into 0.9.8, but likely into 0.9.9, based on the review effort.

We are exploring what the iOS build infrastructure will look like.

Hey Evan,

So I appear to be late to this and getting my bearings, but where is the status for having AppInventor for iPad. Is there a download package that I could have access to? Is it publicly available? Want to test it out with my class for a project in the near future.

See When will IOS version be available to the public?

Amazing Work!!!! @ewpatton and team..
