Make a list with paired data

I want to make a list of paired data. The data must be stored in a variabel and the data must be accessibel and adjustabel. This means to peices of data is inserted say name and phone number. When the data is inserted an automatic check is made of the names and if they are the same the new number is inserted. Both data should be possible to find and use. I have been looking in the list blocks. is it possible?
