Listpicker highlight selection

I'm using a listpicker to select a bluetooth device.
When I make a selection, the connection is made without a problem. But it takes a second or two, and in that time there is no visible indication that anything has happened, so the user won't have any. Is it possible to change the text colour or background for the selected item while the connection is being made?

There is a Progress Notifier block you can use for a pop up notice after selecting, and recall it after connection.
