I’m Swetalin Rout, a student interested in contributing to MIT App Inventor for Open source.

I’m currently exploring the codebase and community guidelines.

My background includes frontend development , Python and DBMS . I am learning Java for MIT app Inventor's architecture and workflow.

Looking forward for positive guidance and contributing here.

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026

Information for people hoping to apply to this year's Google Summer of Code... App Inventor does plan to apply to be an organization in GSoC if we're given the opportunity to do so. I haven't found the exact date the organizations will be announced, but it looks to be sometime in February. We won't know if App Inventor will be a part of GSoC 2026 until late February.
