Introduction - New MIT APP Inventor Contiributor (GSOC 2026)

Hi everyone!
My name is Eshwar Reddy T, and I’m a 4th-year Computer Science student from SJM Institute of Technology. I’m interested in contributing to MIT App Inventor and preparing for Google Summer of Code 2026.

I have experience with JavaScript, Java, HTML, and CSS, and I’ve also worked with React. Recently, I built a React-based agentic AI–powered career advisor project, which involved creating interactive UIs and integrating AI-driven workflows. I enjoy working on user-centric applications and tools that make technology more accessible to learners and developers.

I’ve been exploring MIT App Inventor recently and really admire its mission to democratize app development and empower students and educators to build impactful mobile applications without deep programming experience. I’m particularly interested in areas related to user-facing features, UI/UX improvements, educational tools, and platform enhancements.

I’d love to start contributing and learn more about the codebase. Are there any good first issues or beginner-friendly tasks you’d recommend that align with my background and skill set?

Looking forward to contributing and learning from the community.
Thanks!
Eshwar Reddy T

Thanks for pointing that out! It’s really encouraging to see so many new contributors joining the GSoC discussions lately. Reading through the introductions and project ideas has been inspiring—there’s a lot of diversity in backgrounds and interests.

I’ll definitely go through the recent topics and their replies

Looking forward to collaborating and sharing ideas with everyone here!
