In-app subscription billing

Guys,
Can in-app subscriptions be used in both paid and free apps ?
I've searched for days for the answer to this and common sense says the answer should be yes but I cant find any confirmation of it.

You can use this advance in-app billing extension, which uses latest sdk version 5.0.0 ↓
