Recently this icon issue is asked so frequently. Did we made some change on server side?
it's always better to tip the user when they give a unqualified icon file (wrong format, wrong size ) when DESIGNING, not COMPILING.
Above the field where the icon is added, it is clearly written what files are accepted. The rest is people's lack of willingness to read descriptions...
The main thing was the switchover from Java 8 to Java 11. Until we know more about what specific types or characteristics of icons are failing on Java 11 there's not much we can do about it.
