I teach MIT to my students and recently I observed that the projects get deleted automatically. Its happening quite a lot of time. The students feel very sad when their projects gets deleted can you please help
Which server do they use, ai2.appinventor.mit.edu or code.appinventor.mit.edu?
Also, do they share accounts?
Neither MIT nor App Inventor 2 do NOT delete Projects randomly or automatically.
Consider these possibilities:
- the user of the account can specifically send his/her Project to Trash and then permanently delete it from Trash using either the main server or the code server. This takes several steps and if successful means the user consciously deleted the file using the Delete Forever button and then consenting use the notification that pops up and selecting OK (and the Project is gone (red box)) or select Cancel and the deletion will be cancelled (circled in green)..
-
if students share a Project (either using the same account using the main server or through sharing the return code among them to the code server) it is possible that one of the students deleted the project unknown to another.
-
if a student forgets his/her access code or types the code incorrectly, she or he will not be able to return to the project if using the code server
-
there may be other possibilities. As ABG requested, which server are the students using and are they sharing a Project or an access code?
You can check to see if any of these possibilities is happening.
