Giving away my app to friends

Hello, I wanted to give my little app to some friends by Google play. But as I realized that there is to pay 25$ for registration. So I sent them the apk-file. But as they are not familiar with the Smartphone they could not install it. Is there an easy solution free of charge to distribute an app. As I don't want earn money with an app, I either don't want to pay for giving it away.

I see that there have been various suggestions so Ill add one more: Wix.com.

I built a small webpage and place my *.APK files in to ZIP folders, load them up to WIX and off we go.
