How do I make this code generate less lag?

This seemingly innocent group of blocks has been causing me to go insane.
Every. Single. Time. I place this code into a "when Clock. Timer" block it starts lagging. A lot. No.. it's not about the interval, I tried this with a 750ms interval and it STILL lagged.

We also need to know/see what arm1 and arm2 are doing and in what context (what else is going on), difficult to consider your issue in isolation.

Is arm2 meant to get the arm1 value ? (which would be the original arm1 value +30 +30)
