Does anyone know how I can get the Certificate of Participation for MIT Appathon 2026?
I submitted my project for MIT Appathon 2026, but from April until the end of May I was extremely busy preparing for my country's university entrance examinations, so I wasn't able to keep up with all of the event updates.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could let me know:
Whether a Certificate of Participation is available for participants who submitted their projects.
How I can request or obtain it.
Who I should contact if I missed any announcement regarding the certificates.
You probably got, or will get, an email telling where you need to visit to get your certificate, which I believe is the participation portal. Only those who were not placed (3rd or higher in their category) can get certificates. In previous years certificates became available in August.
For the 2026 Global Appathon, two types of certificates were issued:
Award Certificates were given to projects selected by the judging panel in each award category. These projects were also recognized in the official awards video.
Certificates of Contribution were issued to individuals who completed a project submission and also filled out the participant survey, which was distributed through a series of emails after the submission deadline.
Because the Certificates of Contribution were approved by MIT as part of an official process and the survey deadline has now passed, we are unfortunately unable to issue additional certificates. If you believe you filled out the participation survey and didn’t get a certificate, please let us know – we received a few notifications that the certificate emails went to Spam and would be happy to check/re-send the email.
