How can I read values from a Google spreadsheet?

It would really help if you provided a screenshot of your relevant blocks, so we can see what you are trying to do, and where the problem may be.

To get an image of your blocks, right click in the Blocks Editor and select "Download Blocks as Image". You might want to use an image editor to crop etc. if required. Then post it here in the community.

blocks (7)

Please find block and designer pics.
Url for Web1 is
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ "my sheet ID" /export?format=csv
I have been stuck up to update my old App. Thanks in advance

as far as I can see, your blocks look fine
there seems to be something in your data which breaks the list from csv table block?
as test you might want to display the response content directly in a label to find out, what is going on...

Taifun!
Thank you for reply. Please find sheet and display information in label on response content

I have shared google spread sheet to "anyone" and copied the link. Strange thing is error started for old apps which were working properly.

I use google spread sheet as my apps data sheets.

Why do you have a redirect on the google sheet ?

Check your google sheet url it should be, as a minimum, in the format:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/<FILE ID HERE>/export?format=csv

This is the google spread sheet link. I am sure nothing is wrong with the link. please check whether you can down load it or not
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aBoIzNf4JnVDLYtJaIJ4TriWmXIoNSvhoi-w1P7liOI/export?format=csv

That downloads OK and appears to present a csv file that is in the correct format without any strange characters.

What does your responseContent look like if you put it in a label instead of a list ?

I tried with label and textbox. the displayed text is like this

Working fine here:

Really not sure I understand why you are getting a redirect page back from a google url ? Something gone wrong locally on your network or computer ?

Dear TIMAI2
Thank you so much for trying and getting the output. But I am not getting it. Every time, it is giving text out put which is includes "Temporary redirect". I am getting this error after "aistarter" update. Could you please suggest what else i can do.

Do all these old programs also access Google Sheets?

Dear ABG

Yes,I use Google Spread sheets as data base in all my programmes.

I am getting errors when i connect via Emulator but not by USB.

We are heading into the mysteries of how networking works in an emulator, compared to how it works in a phone connected via USB.

Your Google URLs are being transformed at run time in one environment, but not another.

Could you describe the network where you run your PC and emulator, and also tell us if you use the Legacy Connection checkbox on the Companion app or leave it blank?

Also tell us what environment you work in, for example school/office/home, that might be affecting your Internet traffic.

I used google internet explorer, I tried with Legacy connection check box for both on and off. I am using my home internet connection.

don't try emulator if it needs network .emulator is old version android use mobile

Ai2 does not work well with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Try using Firefox or Chrome browsers.

You also did not mention the environment home/office/school, which might have filters.

Dear ABG, I am using Chrome browser and home network.

From the observation that a USB Companion connection allows your apps to connect to your Google Sheets successfully without the redirect-caused errors, that leads me to dismiss these hypotheses:

  • Google Sheets permission settings
  • Google resource limit expiration

Instead, I would pursue these emulator alternatives for your Companion/emulator setups, in the hope that a different Android version might stop or hide the redirects ...
