Here is an app idea

I'm not sure if this is worth anything to anyone but here it is. After seeing hundreds (it seemed) of posts on Next Door detailing people either losing their pets or finding strays, I set out to build an app that would connect lost pets to their owners through the power of community.

The name of the app was "Lost Paws". People could join with their information including contact info along with the name of their pets and some pictures and post them if they became lost. They could also post a picture of a found pet for others on the app to be able to get reunited. Users could communicate publicly on the main page or privately through the app if they didn't want to put their location data out there for all to see. (Details on this still had to be worked out)

The idea was to use Firebase for storage, the camera to capture a pic of the animal to upload the the public "lost" or "Found" page and geo-location that shows where the pic of the pet was taken. The idea was if enough people saw it, the location of the pet could be estimated and users could keep an eye out for it if the saw it was in their area.

There is so much that could be done apart from the basics above such as, "rewards" for safe returns, "To give away to a good home" etc.

Anyway, I didn't really get very far with it as I moved on to a different project but I still think this is a worthy project worth exploring. If anyone out there agrees and would like to take the idea and run with it, by all means do it! It could even be a fun App Inventor community project.

Cheers!
