Getting Started with Contributing to MIT App Inventor (GSoC 2026)

Hello everyone,

I’m Ritesh, a second-year Computer Science student. After learning about GSoC, I started exploring open-source projects to contribute to, and I found MIT App Inventor particularly interesting—especially the work around components and iOS development.

I’ve successfully set up the project locally and am currently spending time understanding the codebase and how different parts fit together. My goal is to start contributing meaningfully and help make MIT App Inventor even more powerful.

The announcement about MIT App Inventor’s intention to participate in GSoC 2026 is really encouraging.
