I teach beginning development using AppInventor as an approachable dev environment. Thank you, it works well.
I get .aia submissions from my students, that I upload to my account, and after one assignment, I have 30 new projects. The next week I have 30 more.
It would be nice to have a folders feature so that I can put all the HelloPurr assignments into one folder of My Projects.

Would it be an option for you to just see the blocks your students made instead of importing the project?
You can use unchive to look at a aia file.
https://unchive.kodular.io
Students can also make a summary of there project and send you a zip file with all info and blocks.
