Me too I have the same issue. Tried with western europe location first, then when I saw this triggers error I switched to a new Firebase project, set up a realtime database in US location, tried again and get the exact same error upon startup:
Error from Companion: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'boolean java.lang.String.equals(java.lang.Object)' on a null object reference
I find projectBucket term confusing. I have set there the name of the folder under which tag/value pair get stored. Hope this is OK.
But this thing just triggers this error. Any idea to get the information bit out from a standard website (I can write the server part) instead of this buggy Firebase component?
I have the same problems above trying to run projects in new accounts, one that I created a few weeks ago and another that I created right now. Neither the apk works. But the same projects works well whitout any problem in a old account I have since 2016.
Could this issue be related with any kind of authentication process necessary for the new accounts?
I would prefer to not grace this question with a response.
I have not seen that you did ask for help about Firebase anywhere on this community, and do not know if you tried anything - we have to start somewhere. As it happens, the Firebase component is broken, so an alternative approach is required, available extensions or the web component.
