Firebase as main component and more than one user making their project at the same time without having any bugs or losing data

Hello MIT App Inventor Team,

We hope you're doing great!

We are DECI, a team of programmers from almentor, currently building a food delivery app using MIT App Inventor.

We’d like to suggest two key features that would make the platform even more powerful and developer-friendly:

1. Multi-User Collaboration (Without Auto-Merging)

It would be incredibly helpful if multiple developers could work on the same project simultaneously, without automatically merging their progress. Something similar to independent branches or versioning would allow for smoother collaboration and better team workflows.

Right now, exporting and importing .aia files manually slows us down and increases the risk of progress being lost or overwritten.

2. Firebase as a Main/Built-in Component

Firebase is one of the most important tools for modern app development—whether it's for authentication, real-time databases, or cloud storage.

Right now, using Firebase in MIT App Inventor requires external extensions and manual setup. We'd love to see Firebase added as a built-in, core component, making it easier for developers to implement powerful backend features natively.

We truly appreciate all the hard work that’s gone into building MIT App Inventor. It's a fantastic platform, and we believe these updates would take it to the next level—especially for professional and collaborative development teams like ours.

Best regards,
DECI Team

  1. Not happening any time soon...as far as I know.

  2. There is already a built-in Firebase component in AppInventor, you will find it in the Experimental section of the components palette in the Designer.
