ESP32. WiFi. WebServer. Upload file from App to ESP32. SdCard reader. LittleFS

Hello friends,

I would like to share my experience on uploading files to ESP32. At first I wanted to upload the files from the App using the Web component, but so far I have not been able to, so I used the ActivityStarter component and the device browser.

I'll be using this board, which is the shape and size of the Arduino UNO, with the ESP32.

1.- Files management with the LITTLEFS library.

  • We are going to use a code to create, delete, view,... files and directories in ESP32.
  • We will use the LITTLEFS library (since the old SPIFFS library is obsolete).

  • We can Upload files to ESP32 through a web page:

5.- More codes to upload, delete, list, ... files on the SdCard from an ESP32 and ESP8266 Web Server.

It is recommended to change the SPIFFS library to LITTLEFS.

6.- OTA.

OTA is Web Updater Over The Air.
Here we have a great tutorial:

Should this bring up a wifi hotspot? Or have I misunderstood? I flash my ESP32 and it seems to upload successfully. No Wifi hotspot is created though.

The codes shown in this topic is for the system to work as a client of a local WiFi network.

Hey Juan. Thanks for your post. I uploaded the ino for webserver with SD card.
Serial output never gets past.
MDNS responder started
initialization failed!
It connects to the internet then halts there.
Also I had gottern an error that "File" was not declared.
I replaced it with "ext::File" in 4 places I believe. Let me know if you have any suggestions
Thanks
Keith.

Try creating some information on the Sdcard.
