Emulator issue as the app refuses to work

I am trying to use Emulator to run the app. the app works fine on my mobile but refuses and throws error as seen in the pic attached
The questions are

1. How to solve the emulator issue
2. Is it essential that the app has to work on emulator for the appathon submission

Also, judges will be testing on real Android devices, so having it not quite work in the emulator is fine.
