Newbie here. I am using the get variable but when I click the dropdown menu, it doesn’t give me option. What am I doing wrong?

You need to pull out from the Blocks Pallete an
initialize global variable block
to create the variable and its name first.
It says global speed when I do that. The tutorial says speed only. Is that a problem?
You do need to set a variable before you can get a variable with that block
Hover your mouse over “speed” to get the variable block
