MRZ should be readable by an OCR program.

There are different types of MRZ codes, categorized by the number of lines and character count. For example, Type 1 has three lines, while Type 2 has two, and Type 3 has two lines with a different character count.

They are usually found at the bottom of the personal data page of documents like passports and IDs.

The MRZ contains information like the document holder's name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, and expiration date.

The text is printed in a specific font (usually OCR-B font) that is easily readable by optical character recognition (OCR) systems.
