Display button or text on top of video or image

hi i want to display text and button on top of an image or a video. pls help me

You can do this in a canvas with imageSprites and an image, but not with a video

can you show me how to do it? also can you tell how to add delay function like i want a text visible for 1 second an invisible for 1 second and it want to continue

this is for a game in background there will be few images and on top of that there will be game text and play button
