It would really help if you provided a screenshot of your relevant blocks, so we can see what you are trying to do, and where the problem may be.
To get an image of your blocks, right click in the Blocks Editor and select “Download Blocks as Image”. You might want to use an image editor to crop etc. if required. Then post it here in the community.

I Fixed it by making none of my text blocks have a tick next to read only 
. It however would be nice to make it so The user couldn’t edit the text boxes.

most probably you are not using the latest version of the companion app?
you might want to do an update...

Ok that would probably be why It’s on a school device so basically everything except for MIT app so it probably won’t be updated.
