Connect to bluetooth device and make an app as remote control

Hi
I wonder if that is possible
I have a streamer that I would like to connect to via a bluetooth connection
The thing I want to do is use the app as a sort of remote
Which can perform certain operations such as turning on/off the device and switching between channels
Is it possible?

this streamer and the device is one and the same?
bluetooth still is active while the device is off?
does that device use bluetooth classic or BLE?
generally this sounds doable...
