Compiled IPA Does Not Open

Hello, everyone:

I just made some changes to one of my iOS Apps. Everything works perfectly fine when I use the App Inventor Companion to simulate my App on my iPhone 13 (iOS 27.2). However, I am having issues with the actual compiled IPA for my App.

When I try to open it, I get a black screen with the App Icon in the center for about 15 seconds before I get kicked back to the iPhone Home Screen. I compiled the previous App Revision, and it works as expected. I also recompiled one of my other iOS Apps, and it also works as expected.

Obviously, one of my new changes is causing issues, but I have no idea what it could be since I am not getting any error codes (either from the Companion or the IPA). My changes included some additional UI Elements (just Horizontal Arrangements, Labels, Checkboxes, Buttons, and Textboxes) and the code to make them work within my existing structure. Previously, I had an issue where enabling the “HTML Format” option for my Labels would prevent my App from opening, but I have since disabled that.

Before I scrap the changes and slowly add things back in, I would like to know if there are any standard issues that I accidently introduced. Did anything get included in the latest App Inventor release that could be messing me up? Any ideas would be appreciated, and I can share my project for testing if necessary.

Thanks!

To narrow down the problem, disable all timers and the Screen.Initialize event on Screen1, then try again.

@Anke

I have disabled my timers, and my Screen.Initialize block is empty on Screen1.

The compiled IPA does the same thing (does not open).

This makes me think that I have an issue in the Designer.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Adam

Ok, post the aia or send it to me via PM. I can take a look tomorrow.
