Companion IOS CloudDbError: Enable to connect to client: socket closed by remote peer

Hi,

I have this problema with companion IOS:

CloudDbError: Enable to connect to client: socket closed by remote peer

this even using the default MIT server… and SSL enabled

everything is ok with android instead

can someone help me?… thanks

Tested on iOS 15.8.6 and iOS 26.5.2 with Companion & IPA.

So same problem…

I replaced the CloudDB server yesterday with a new version that supports the web emulator. I also moved it to different hardware (well, virtual hardware). As part of that process, it received a new TLS/SSL certificate issued by Letsencrypt. The previous one was issued by Internet2 via Sectigo. I suspect that older phones may not support Letsencrypt.

I'm going to replace the certificate with the original Sectigo certificate and ask you, once I have done so, if it makes things work.

Note: The Sectigo certificate is only valid until September. After that I'm not sure what happens because Internet2 has switched away from Sectigo to another company whose certificates may or may not be trusted by older phones.

So stand by for the switcharoo!

OK, I've switched back to the older certificate. Let me know if that fixed things, or not.

Thanks.
