Can't get buttons into any arrangement

Hi all,
I'm a beginner. I've added a horizontal arrangement to the screen. However, when I try to place buttons inside it, they only appear above the layout, never within it. The arrangement just stays a single line.

Just before, I had an arrangement that had buttons in it, but the arrangement was much wider than the screen. I put 5 buttons in a row and only 3 of them showed. I couldn't get them all in a row and inside the screen.

So, I wanted to try again and deleted that arrangement. I'm now I'm unable to get any buttons to appear inside any new horizontal or other arrangement. Any idea what the problem is?

Place the Horizontal Arrangement, then drag a Button into the arrangement space.

Thank you for your reply. I keep trying exactly this. I pull the button exactly above the arrangement, which is a line, on the screen, but the button does not go into it.

left click horizontal arrangement and drag on to Designer screen

Is it possible that the Arrangement you pulled in got too short?
Try increasing its Height.
