Can we create a simple button widget

Hi,
I want to build a simple button widget on home screen, so when I click it, it has to trigger something in background. It's kind a Panic Button.

App Inventor is not able to create widgets
But what about starting an app, trigger that "something" and close the app again?

I have already an app for it, but it looks more simpler with button widget for my use case.

probably it looks more simple, but Widgets are not possible
