I'm encountering the following issue: AI Companion works fine with iPhone when using wifi but gets stuck at 87% ("sending assets") when using mobile data connection.
Is it mobile data connection not supported? Does it only work if computer and smartphone are connected to the same local network?
Android works fine both ways.

I don't think connections between the computer and phone work when the phone is on cellular data. Consider turning off cellular data and connect to the same network your computer is on.
If that doesn't work consider reading over this troubleshooting page and try the solutions on there:

You need to run the companion with wifi
Right now the iOS version only supports direct connections on the same network. A future iOS release will add support for connecting over cellular network.
