Sorry, I'm having trouble using absolute arrangement. None of the items I've entered into absolute arrangement appear in the companion, even when the application is created. Is there a solution? I want to stack objects like the screenshot I posted above.
There is a bug in the Absolute Arrangement that causes this.
It is not evident from your screenshot as to how you want to "stack" objects ?
oh sorry, i mean like this, at the bottom there is an image or video player, and above it there is a button, is there any other solution, because abso arragement is not working.
Just use vertical and horizontal arrangements to create your layout
can it be done? how to do it?
wow thanks for the solution ![]()
If you want to overlay the burger image with the button, then use two vertical arrangements, one inside the other, placing the image as the background to the "outer" vertical arrangement, set the background of the inner vertical arrangement to "none". I used a blank label to offset the the button vertically from centre.

Wow, I just found out that it could be done like that. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.
Now don't go duplicating this for each menu item, use one layout and replace images/video sources/text for each item on the same layout.
sorry, can i replace the background with a video
Ah, that is in your lower arrangement, let me have a quick think.
I don't believe that is possible with native components. You would need an overlay extension (if you can use extensions) such as this:
great, thank you very much this will help me a lot
Oh yeah, is there an extension that can increase the app size limit? Because as far as I know, App Inventor is limited to only 30MB.

The HArrangment is orange, the VArrangement is green, the video player is black, you would need to do some sizing.
The extension is only 7kB.
Top tip, optimise your images and videos to the dimensions they will be displayed at in the app, to reduce their size.
The ai2 server has a size limit of 30mb but there is an apk overhead of @ 3.5mb to consider, so 26.5mb.
If you start to run out of space, you could switch to the code server which allows for 50mb (46.5mb)
okay, thank you for your help, sorry for bothering you, this is really helpful ![]()
