That is indeed progress! It is possible to communicate without sharing UUIDs. On my website there are links about the nitty gritty of MicroBit comms. It requires a minimum two chocolate biscuits and a large coffee.
Did you pair the micro:bit? How? Best is No pairing required, that saves a lot of headache.

It has been a while since I programmed a little robot using a micro:bit. The UART remains shaky and you can do very little until the micro:bit is out of memory.
