Scraping Offcanvas components

I have had this discussion with OSG themselves, they say its legit.
Just read that again... " You may retrieve and display Content from the Site on a computer screen, print individual pages on paper and store such pages in electronic form on disk** (but not on any server or other storage device connected to a network) for your personal, non-commercial use provided that you acknowledge the copyright owner."
I display and print the public data, the data thats open in line with The Improvement Service is pleased to announce the launch of new open data services and products in support of the new UK Geospatial Strategy.
Same old same old... you dont have a solution so you hide behind semantics.
Its a good excuse but fools no one as its obviously not a valid excuse.
You unlist it to hide the truth !! ..

Could you please watch your language instead of accusing a respected power user and spamming the community.

I am just stating the facts !!

and there is a distinct absence of any evidence to the contrary !!

Accusations are not facts. We don't allow this kind of language and behavior on the community.

This is part of the TOS of the community.

So please behave yourself. You could always go somewhere else to ask your questions. Remember that all Power Users volunteer their time to help others.

We only have your say-so on this. Perhaps show here your exchanges with OSG ? As Power users, we seek to protect the community and its users from "litigation - whatever form that may take", hence the unlisting. We can always relist once matters are resolved

With regard to the scrape you want to achieve, it has not been crystal clear what it is you want to scrape. Can you go through this step by step on the website, then indicate (visually) which data it is you want to scrape?

If you peruse the forum you will see that your abusive comments could not be further from the truth. If you are so unhappy, why not pay for the software + expert technical support of a different platform?

The OSG site is part of the UK Geospatial Strategy. All the data, postcodes, addresses, uprn's are public domain data, free for anyone in the UK to access.
I have been accused without any evidence of contravening the OSG site t&C's.
The discussion I had with OSG ended when they were unable to demonstrate where I was contravening there terms.
My accuser has censored the conversation with out any evidence or justification for doing so, hoping to sweep it under the carpet by hiding it!!

So you had the same discussion there too. And now you try to get the same data in another way I guess? Again, nobody accused you. We asked for clarification. All what happened after that was because of the language you used that was against the TOS.

So you first implied an amicable conversation with OSG, but clearly they have expressed concern. They have established database query methods for members. These are described in Web_Services_REST.doc and Web_Services_SOAP.doc, see https:// osg.scot/portal/pages/library.

Where is this stated on the OSG website?

What change is there for members of the public?
Members of the public can access a new Open UPRN and Open USRN dataset for free.

Open your eyes !!

my discussion has been hidden , on an assumption of my wrong doing.
Integrity and transparency are not being served in this community.

Its in the FAQ !!!!.... lol ...oh my oh my ... may i ask what who or what body has oversight over this community to make sure that the admin are capable and dont have personal interests that conflict with their involvement ?

hidden, censored ? these are things that are done without justification for personal reasons. Do MIT approve of this kind of admin of the community ?
Integrity and transparency ...... not much to ask and i would hope the foundation of all your beliefs !!

OMG really ?
Thats why you guys hid the thread.... wow ... because you cant read the FAQ's ... and dont want the public to know it lolololol ... OMG

So, do you interrogate every poster in this way ? Do you make every one who posts in the community justify why they are doing it ?
Explain to me why i have been victimised ? Why i have been singled out for special attention ?

The Power Users have had a discussion regarding this topic, and the posts within it, and have made the following decision:

  1. This topic will be closed, any further posts will be deleted
  2. The Community Moderators (Power Users) believe it is neither possible or practical to provide technical support in this subject area, due to the difficulties with meeting legal requirements that may be in place, and the terms of service of the community.
  3. No new topics should be started in relation to web scraping the OSG website. Any such topics will also be deleted.
  4. The Community Moderators will continue to apply community rules (terms of service) and posting guidance with regard to the behaviour of, and content generated by, community users.
