Firstly, my User marker is not showing up on my map while showUser can be seen. When I type a location into the text box, it returns a alert that I need to enter a location inthe text box when I have already did so.

You do not need the x'ed out Block if you use Map1.ShowUser . Using it may be causing your issue.
