Issue with copying and pasting objects in designer view

For some reason, copying and pasting in my pc doesn't work. I tried to click on a button, pressed ctrl+c and ctrl+v, but i somehow can't paste the object. Can someone tell me what happened? Thanks a lot (i am new to programming btw)
when i do so, the checkbox next to display hidden components in viewer glowed up.
