"start 1, end 0, length 0"

This part of the error message means that the code is trying to access a substring starting at position 1 (index 0 is the first character) but ending at position 0 (which is not possible) in a string that is empty or has a length of 0.

There is an issue with the companion app currently
Try this version

Remember: 2.73d1u is intended for ai2, not ai2-test and you will need the click the "Not Now" button.

make sure that string has something in it
use "debugging methods" like just displaying the received message then start split function.
That makes you to reduce errors
