Could you please check this version? Latest Firebase and gms libraries. What phone and Android are you using for testing? Do you have Google Play Services installed?

Libraries are the newest. It's strange that everything works on Android 10... it looks as if the app lost activity or closed, but without crashing, because there is no error message. Without a newer phone for testing, it's difficult.
