I am getting this error when connecting to ‘AI Companion’

Hello Warren

Does your device (Android Phone) regularly up date your Apps automatically? It sounds as though your App Inventor Project is using a component or block that the Companion does not recognise - if so, it might be out of date since a newer one was recently released @ Google Play.

Hello, I have the same problem and i fix it. 1.export the bad project 2 create a copy 3. rename your bad project to a *.zip and open the zip, open src/appinventor… to the end. you have 2 files, if you have one screen (Screen1.scm and Screen1.bky) extract Screen1.scm and open it with notepad++ 4. there is a line code in the beginning like that : {“authURL”:[“ai2.appinventor.mit.edu”],“YaVersion”:“205”,“Source”:“Form”,“Properties”:{"$Name":“Screen1”,"$Type":“Form”,"$Version":“27”,“AppName”…

I see. It’s not a fix that everyone can perform.

If anyone wishes to correct the problem by removing the reference to “Column” as per the linked post, please make a copy of the .aia file first.

Note that to edit a .scm file, you must use a plain text editor, not a word processor or similar.
